As a property owner of both land and various colonial buildings in Merida and other parts of Mexico, Ellen Fields of Mortgages in Merida understands the process of buying and developing property for both pleasure and investment. She’s ready to put her knowledge and expertise to work for you to make your experience of purchasing in Mexico a pleasant and successful one.

Ellen moved from San Luis Obispo, California to Merida, Mexico in early 2002. A graduate of UCLA, Ellen held positions in sales, marketing and graphic design at various computer hardware and software companies, including IBM, Unisys and Veritas in New Jersey, New York and California.

Ellen and her husband, James, moved to Mexico to start their own business, experience a new culture and learn a new language. They chose Merida for its tranquility, safety, proximity to both the United States and the Caribbean and for its reasonable real estate prices. Ellen continues to perfect her Spanish and can negotiate your real estate transaction in two languages.

With over 30 years experience working in both corporate positions and as an entrepreneur, she has done everything from technical recruiting, computer hardware sales, stock option accounting, photography, videography and website design.

Ellen brings her strong understanding of business process as well as her experience of living and working in Mexico to her position with Mortgages in Mexico. She and her husband, Jim, also own Eclectec SA de CV, and are the publishers of the Yucatan Living website, as well a number of other local clients' websites.
